To Dos Day - NYC Edition

If you were in NYC on Tuesday (like The Stinkys were), the following might have been on your To Do list...

___ Item 1: TRY NOT TO MELT...
...in the unseasonable swelter of midOctober NYCness.

___ Item 2: SPEND RIDICULOUSLY LITTLE...
...as you acquire a ridiculous volume of socks, underpants and neckties. Ahhh, Century 21...

___ Item 3: REVEL IN THE FABULOUSITY...
...of both a business meeting and a very social lunch of "gay burgers" with the one, the only, the Modern Fabulousity. Always such a treat...

___ Item 4: AVOID THE INSANITY...
...of Rosie O'Donnell's booksigning in midtown but pick up the book at Union Square anyway...

___ Item 5: ACQUIRE...
...the new/old chunky black specs you've been fantasizing about at a kicky joint called Fabulous Fanny's.

___ Item 6: DETERMINE...
...that, as of this week, your ideal Supporting Actress roster has shifted to prioritize Jennifer Jason Leigh (who you haven't seen in Margot at the Wedding) and Tilda Swinton (who you just have in Michael Clayton), plus whoever else. Swinton's simply and freakishly good -- beyond brilliant, really -- and you can't wait to see where she'll stand in the 2nd Annual Supporting Actress Blogathon? (It'll be happening on January 6, 2008 - save the date!) So, lovely reader, have you seen the Tilda? And if so/no, who're you leaning toward for the most important category of the night?...

Have at it, lovelies...

I am dismayed that #7 was not ride the ferris wheel at the Times Square Toys 'R' Us, which I make all my visitors do. I can't help but feel that when my father eventually visits, we are going to end up getting the Barbie car.

Just saw "Michael Clayton" yesterday and I thought that Tilda was simply phenomenal. She isn't given much to do, but she more than builds a character out of what's she given. Love the scenes where she's talking to herself in the mirror, stumbling over her words, juxtaposed with her in giving the interview speaking flawlessly.
