Appropos of not much more than a generalized love of all things Madeline Kahn, StinkyLulu's pleased to announce the upcoming "Madeline Kahn Appreciation Day" on Thursday, May 29, 2008. On that day -- which isn't her birthday or anything, just a regular day -- all bloggers are invited to offer their appreciations of the life and work of Madeline Kahn (1942-1999). I'll lead things off with a Supporting Actress Profile of one or another of Ms. Kahn's brilliant, non-nominated performances and will look forward to collating everyone else's links here. So, lovelies, save the date and spend the next month savoring the marvelousness that is Madeline Kahn.
Ponders the myriad pathologies of pop culture.
Obsesses about actressing at the edges.
Loves grilled cheese.

what a great idea. eunice burns is one of my all time favourite movie debuts - she should've been oscar nominated for that performance
I think there should be a Madeline Kahn Appreciation Year.
In my dream world, she starred in the movie version of "Mame" instead of Lucille Ball (who got her fired as Agnes Gooch in the awful real-world version).
FLAMES! SHOOTING . . FROM THE SIDE OF MY FACE!
Oh, sweet mystery of life!
I love that there was a "most promising newcomer" award at the Golden Globes. Diana Ross won, presaging a glittering film career. :|
I love Miss Trixie in Paper Moon. That she did What's Up, Paper Moon, Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Saddles back to back is amazing. To get one or two perfs like that, especially for a comedienne, is rare.
Mrs. White will be getting her due.
everything and anything she did!!
Thank you Miss K!
