To Dos Day - Gay Pride Edition

___ Item 1: GET YOUR PRIDE ON!
As this photo of Criticlasm in prideful action proves, Gay Pride Season is officially ON and will continue to be so for the next few. Because I'm old, I've taken to having little Pride in recent years but something about the silliness of this season warms my crabby cockles. With ABQ Pride happening this weekend, MrStinky and I are even considering entering the Queer Bake Off again. (It's part of a sneaky scheme to promote the gay goat farm where MrStinky's apprenticing.) I have no idea what I might enter to "top" my 2006 champion entry, Fudgepacker's Delight, but I'm thinkin' about it. (Please send your hot, queer baking tips here.)

___ Item 2: WITNESS A WHOLE 'NOTHER BRAND OF PRIDE!
FourFour's Fabulous Frat Encounter makes me proud
.

___ Item 3: MOMENT OF PRIDE-ZEN!
Follow the sage advice of Silent-Porn-Star.

___ Item 4: TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!
Come November, I'll be proud to cast my big gay vote. But, until then, time's a'tickin' to vote in StinkyLulu's own "Born in 1939" poll (though it seems like a certain rout for a certain Lily). The "Year for July" poll, however, begins on Wednesday. So, as always, lovely reader, vote early and vote often. (BTW - the July roster of Smackdowners is wide open, so holler if you're interested)...

___ Item 5: PRESERVE YOUR CINEMATIC PRIDE!
My submission for the Large Ass Movie Blogs network's "Movie of the Month" turned out to be Hedwig and the Angry Inch which was -- alas -- not selected. (Ah well, I s'pose the actual selection is queer in its own way.) In the interest, however, of celebrating queer cinema during Pride Month, I direct your attention to a little polling endeavor that Movie Dearest is running: PRESERVE THIS!, an effort to get more GLBT-themed movies placed on the National Film Registry. It's an excellent notion worth supporting.

___ Item 6: PROMOTE YOUR OBSCURE PRIDE!
Lovely readers, I offer this StinkyLulu Alert: should you have the opportunity, perhaps as part of a gay film festival near you, I beseech you to seek out my new most favoritest gay movie (at least for this week): a 20-minute short film from Iceland called "Wrestling." Dumpy Icelandic dudes in love. Take my word -- see it if you can and see my giddy riff on the film here. Which makes me wonder: what strange, small or obscure queer (or queerish) films do you treasure? Share your love/s in comments...

Have at it, lovelies...

Can you get wrestling on DVD?

And is the Isabelle Huppert profile soon? I can't wait to hear what you think of 8 Women.....

I'm not aware of "Wrestling" on dvd anywhere. Keep an eye peeled on the queer festival circuit, though.

And I have no idea about the Huppert. I'm several months behind on that one...
