In Grilled Cheese News...

Via DukeCityFix:
Just discovered a fascinating event scheduled for this year's New Mexico State Fair (aka NM Expo):

"The skill of competitive eating returns to the New Mexico State Fair when the International Federation of Competitive Eating, Inc., which supervises and regulates eating contests in their various forms throughout the world, brings its State Fair Circuit Grilled Cheese Eating Contest to the Ford Pavilion on Saturday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m. Three hundred sandwiches made of white bread and American Cheese await local and professional eaters…and this year slices of green chile will heat up the competition! Last year’s contest was won by Leland Collins of Durango, CO, who ate 15-½ sandwiches in 10 minutes!"
The scary part is that 16 grilled cheese sammiches in 10 minutes actually sounds do-able to StinkyLulu. (Is that wrong? Really?) But fret not, lovely reader -- Lu wouldn't think of entering. Truth be told, StinkyLulu's more of a grilled cheese gourmand than a straight-up glutton. In that spirit, StinkyLulu's actually thinking of adding a semi-regular feature about notable grilled cheese sandwiches that Lulu encounters along the way...
Whaddaya think?
