1979 - my first oscars
ReplyDeleteToo bad Joan Cusack is competing against herself for her two nominations. I'd like to hear people's opinions on her performances.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think 1988 was such an interesting year, excepting figuring out how Geena Davis won. I'm intrigued. And very intrigued by 1970 or 79. If it's 79, then it's a Streepfest back to back
ReplyDeleteI think I'm revved for any year except '43.
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for '97 as I had seen three of the five nominated performances at the time of the show, which I thought was pretty impressive for an 11-year-old.
ReplyDelete1952! How can you not vote for the fabulous Jean Hagen in "Singin' in the Rain"- quite easily the Best Supporting performance of the 50's.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with James Henry about JEAN HAGEN. She should win the prize for best supporting actress in a musical - EVER! "I can't stand him" & "I could Suuueeeeew" are two of my favorite deliveries of lines in filmdom. OK - I'm gushing - but just the thought of her performance make me laugh out loud.
