ReplyDeleteIsn't it something how Catherine O'Hara was simply forgotten? The movie was a disaster, but this is the type of performance that should've been an Oscar shoo-in. Unfortunately (and ironically), it needed a campaign, and she didn't have that.
ReplyDeleteall signs would indicate that you are not the oscar fairy because this group of 5 is very different.

i count two of those as leads (though both are on the ambiguous either or line) and the two (O'Hara & Epps) are both very fine performances.
ReplyDeleteI've never really understood the fuss for Biswas, Clayburgh (an actress i didn't even like much in her heyday) and Portillo (I was too busy laughing with Duenas and crying with Maura to notice I suppose) but I loved reading your odes to their work.
and I was kinda surprised to see you left Fiona Shaw off because I thought you loved her in Dahlia
With O'Hara I say, hell, close enough, just give it to her, already (maybe next time out?).
